This print of an oak’s tree rings is a literal wood block print! It was made using an actual wood slice cut from the branch of a storm-felled tree in the Hall Green district of Birmingham.

It is printed on cartridge paper using oil based black ink to highlight the simple beauty of the tree’s growth rings. You can see that this particular branch was around 20 years old when the tree fell.

In an effort to reduce single use plastic I supply all my prints in a hard-backed envelope without a plastic film sleeve.
