Hello!

Zoë Millman, Owner / Designer-Maker

bold jewellery for bold people

It’s important to me that my slogan talks about ‘people’ rather than ‘women’. My customers span all ages and genders, and I absolutely love that my jewellery speaks to so many people, whoever they are.

TheCluttery was born in 2017 as an outlet for my creativity while I worked in academia. I made in my spare time, going to markets at weekends. In 2019 I waved goodbye to my desk job and made making my full-time gig.

I’m a self-taught designer and maker and I’ve tried just about every craft you can think of (spoon carving? Yes! Candle making? Obviously! Basket weaving? Try harder!). I studied BA History of Art, then MA Museum Studies and later on I completed a PhD in landscape studies, but in my mid-thirties I realised that academia wasn’t my passion and so here I am!

TheCluttery is mostly just me, but sometimes I talk about ‘we’ because my husband also helps me run this business. He transports me to arts markets and usually helps me set up too. Some of you may even have been served by him while I was taking a break. He is also my sounding board for decisions and designs alike, so when I talk about ‘we’, I mean him too!
