I launched my own shop at Red Brick Market in Birmingham! ‘Shop’ is possibly a stretch; it’s more of a display really. A display in a big space with about 100 other small, local businesses. Of course, I hit a few snags along the way, and it took longer than expected…I will share how I did this in another post, but first I wanted to introduce you to RBM.

What is RBM?

RBM is basically an alternative department store filled with small brands selling almost anything you could want. It’s stuffed with vintage clothes, art, jewellery, cosmetics, candles, food products, stationery, comics, books, sustainable home products, plants, retro furniture and bric a brac…

How does it work?

Walk around the store and choose your items, then pay for them at the till. Simple! It also has a cute coffee shop and is open 7 days a week, so whatever day you visit you’re sure to find something that suits your taste and budget, and you can get yourself a coffee and cake to boot!

Where is it?

It’s at 119 Floodgate Street, Digbeth. You can walk there in less than 10 minutes from St Martins Church at the Bullring by heading along the high street. If you keep the high street on your right, Floodgate Street is on your left. If you reach the Custard Factory, you’ve gone a bit too far! redbrickmarkets.co.uk

What’s The Cluttery’s shop like?

It looks awesome! I’ve painted it pink and white and hung my jewellery on mint coloured pegboard. There is a wide selection of necklaces and earrings to choose from and I update the display regularly, so it’s worth re-visiting. My space is near the Viridian Orb plant shop and Back To Books.
